2014 - This is a redesign of an existing website. In my many traverses of the web from one side to the other I was unable to find a menu like the one I developed for the new site. So I'm going to tentatively claim an internet first!

The four actions that occur when hovering over the menu make it unique;

  1. The hovered image changes
  2. The width of the hovered image increases
  3. The non-hovered images change
  4. The non-hovered images' widths decrease

The kicker is that all this occurs without altering the outside dimensions of the containing element.

This is the test-concept version of the menu in action;

Note: although the site is fully responsive, the menu will only be displayed on screens wider than 640 pixels and the rollover effect will only be seen when using a mouse.

Since the site update there has been a significant increase in page views and conversion rates.
